Physics 7A without AP Physics

I’m a freshman at Cal considering majoring in Applied Math with either a classical mechanics or economics emphasis. Next semester I plan to take Math 53, Physics 7A, Econ 1, and a decal. Though this sounds like a pretty easy course load at first, I’m really nervous about Physics 7A. I have a reasonably good math background (got an A in Math 1B last semester, although it was FPF Math 1B for what that’s worth), but I have no experience with calculus-based physics, just an algebra-based course my junior year of high school and a conceptual physics course at community college last summer that basically handed out free A’s and featured remedial math.

Bottom line: the only 7A lecture that fits my schedule is taught by Hallatschek, who has atrociously low ratings on NinjaCourses. Will I be in over my head without having taken AP Physics or any calculus based physics before?

No. The recommended physics prerequisite is high school physics. Just be disciplined about going to class, reading the book, and doing the problems and labs.
