I wanted to take Physics along with Chemistry or AP Bio so I will be able to take AP Chem Senior year and I was wondering if there was one where it would be easier/better for me to take it along with, Thank you!
Honestly don’t take any advice from here: it depends way too much on your school and on you. Talk to students who have done those courses with the teachers you would have, incl the homework load and grading patterns. Consider how you found regular bio and the bits of chem you have done. Admissions-wise it will do you more good to have As in those classes than to have lower marks + AP Chem. Also remember that for almost everyone the work load gets harder in Grade 11
I’m confused. If you want to take AP Chem don’t you need to take Chem?
If you take AP Bio along with Physics then you won’t have the pre-req. for AP Chem, no?
What is the science progression at your hs? At our hs, freshman take a combined Chemistry/Physics class to establish a base knowledge of those subjects, sophomores often take Biology, and juniors take Physics. This progression allows seniors to select the second level of Chemistry, Physics, or Biology. Most kids at our hs double up junior year with Physics and Chemistry. My D opted to take Physics and AP Bio 2/IB Biochem during senior year.
Depending on the workload, you could take Chemistry and Physics together. You should meet with your GC or chat with your peers to determine the best path forward.
