Physics, Chemistry, or Biology - Haven't had a good base in any of them :/

I haven't had great teachers in any of the three subjects. The test i would want to take is the Physics one, but it's notoriously the hardest and probably the subject i learned the least in. Would reading through PR's or Barron's SAT 2 Physics books give me all the knowledge i need to score a 750+?

Also, you're free to make suggestions as to which one i should take. I haven't taken an AP course in any of these subjects so making this decision is impossible.

Thanks guys.

Hi,

I’m in the same boat as you are - a very basic, badly designed class in chemistry as well as a very long ago class in Bio. Basically, I’ve decided that I’m going to take the Physics test. Not only is it known to have an extremely generous curve (miss 10 points and still get an 800), but it’s based on relatively simple math, and is concept, rather than memorization based. When I skimmed through example questions, I didn’t know all the answers, but each explanation for a question was usually enough for me to comprehend the concept behind the question. I think that with a few months study, it should be easy to learn all the important concepts.

Physics with no class base? That’ll be hard, its -13 for a 800.

Thanks veryindecisive. I decided to do the Chemistry SAT though. It has the least amount of information and i actually remember some of it from my Honor’s Chemistry class.

I’m in the same situation. I’d like to take the physics subject test, but I’ve only taken Physics C: Mechanics. I got a 3 on the exam. I hate chemistry, and I’d prefer not to do biology. In the end, it’s a choice between physics and biology.

My friend says he read the whole PR Bio book the night before the exam and scored a 770. He took Bio freshman year, but didn’t remember anything from the class. Is the exam really that easy to study for?

What about physics given my background? Can I learn the nonmechanics stuff on my own?
