Physics for Future Presidents

Is this a good class? What is your opinion of it? I am choosing between this course and EPS 20 (Earthquakes in your backyard) to take to fulfill my physical breadth. What should I take?

My buddy (Poly Sci) took it and enjoyed it (Physics for Future Presidents, that is). I can't comment from first-hand experience, though.

It was amazing. I don't know EPS 20. I'd say if that subject sounds more interesting, take it, but I would really say sit in both classes for a while and see which grabs you more (and look ahead to see which one will be more interesting for you in the future). And change your GSI if he or she happens to be bad- it happens sometimes and can ruin part of a course. Professor Muller is a great teacher and helpful guy, and makes things in general very understandable. You won't feel comfortable with some things at the end of the course, but he says it takes years for physics graduate students to get comfortable with certain things covered in the course (I'm thinking of quantum mechanics here). Browse his website (where you can find the course website) and read about him- he's interesting!

take PffP... easy A

Seriously, that must be why half the class gets Bs. Many students take it pass/not pass, and generally pass, so it's hard to tell what the real breakdowns are, but if you try, it's hard to fail the class, and fairly easy to attain a B. If you try hard or are just smart, you might find yourself with an A+.

There should be a system where people post what grades they got from a particular class and professor. Perhaps it could be integrated into ratemyprofessors. Think of that! You could see the average grade a professor doles out!

"Physics for Future Presidents"

hmmm... =D
Just look at George W. Bush. LoL Then decided how hard the class must be.

lol j/k. Sounds interesting. I'd take it if I wasn't doing EECS

Muller does post the grades on his PFFP website...
