Hey everyone, I've got a few questions regarding summer internships, and I figured this would be the place to ask them.

For starters, I'm 26, and in a community college, so I'm definitely a non-traditional student. I'm a math/physics major, and I'm intending to transfer to UIUC after receiving my associates. I'm trying to get as much of a leg up as I can now though, and my adviser and I have been talking about looking into internships.

Do I have any options? I'm in the northern Illinois area...so it would have to be in that general area. Traveling isn't entirely out of the question though, depending on the situation. Are most of the summer internships out there focused on high school students/traditional students? Am I out of luck?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm planning on going into research physics, something along the lines of astrophysics or particle physics...though my exact path is still up for decision. Anything pertaining to that type of area would be awesome though.

I've dug some up in google searches for Argonne, Fermilap, UChicago, and UIUC...but they all seem to be geared more towards foreign students, minorities and women. Does a white guy not have any options?...lol

Again, any help would be much appreciated.
