At my school, you are required to take an honors level science course before moving on to the AP version. For this reason, I don’t have the option to take AP Physics junior year, even though I meet the required math level. It’s also worth mentioning that my school does not offer any science past AP Physics 1. Let me know which path you think would fair better in the college admissions process.
Path A:
9: HBiology
10: HChemistry
11: HPhysics
12: AP Physics 1
Path B:
9: HBiology
10: HChemistry
11: AP Chemistry
12: AP Bio or APES
I intend to major in Computer Science and am currently a 10th grader. Is it worth it for me to have the physics background or should I go for path B?
Actually I’d go with path C:
9: HBio
10: HChem
11: AP Chem or HPhysics
12: AP Chem or HPhysics
Top stem schools will expect physics at any level + one AP science. For cs, AP Chem is more useful than AP bio, unless you’re looking at Bioinformatics.

Thanks for the feedback, that seems like a pretty good route to take. I’ll see how I enjoy HChem and go from there.
Regardless of what you do, make sure to take at least a year of physics, colleges want to see physics, chem and bio.
If you think you’re up for it and you have room in your schedule, I would suggest taking both honors physics and AP Chem next year, then AP Physics senior year.
Agreed with above. MYOS’ suggestion is excellent. Just to add my two cents, if you like HChem, I’d recommend doing AP Chem junior year while HChem is still somewhat fresh in your memory.
Always best to have one year of bio, one year of chem, and one year of physics as a bare minimum.
