I have to choose between the two, and I’m not sure which one to choose. I have not taken a physics course in school am dont know if I should take physics or not. I’m heavily intersted in biology and am leaning towards a bio major. Should I try self studying ap physics and tell colleges that I could not fit it into my schedule or take the course in school ?
AP classes look better on college apps
What grade are you going into?
If 10th, you have time. I would say to take AP Bio and/or Honors Physics junior year. If you are a senior, you should take physics to complete the Bio-Chem-Physics track to be competitive. 3 years is required for most colleges.
It all depends on what grade you’re in/going into. If you still have two years left in high school, then I would take both AP Bio and Honors Physics. If you’re going into 12th grade, then I would take Honors Physics. While AP classes definitely look better on transcripts, it might actually hurt you if you haven’t taken biology, chemistry, and physics (selective and semi-selective colleges require this type of science pathway).
Take Physics. Competitive colleges want one year each of bio, chem, and physics. At some schools, this is even a requirement for admission.
