If I have only room for 1 of the 2 (AP physics or APchem) in my senior year schedule and intend to apply to univ with the intention of being pre-med, which is the more important to take?

I a practicing MD who actually always enjoyed Physics but did not like Chemistry at all. Nevertheless, in both medical school and the practice of medicine I have to admit that a solid grounding in chemistry is essential while knowledge of physics can be useful but one can be a successful physician with only a superficial knowledge of it. I was an Astronomy major as an undergraduate so I took many upper division physics courses in addition to the basic courses and did not use much of what I learned in Physics. None of my classmates in medical school knew much physics and even in my Nuclear Medicine Residency Program the other residents and even the physicians on the faculty only had a rudimentary at best knowledge of physics.

I agree, chemistry is more relevant to medicine. Not saying physics is completely useless (x-ray, MRI, CT, fluid flow in pumps all require physics to understand) but chem underlies fundamental things like drugs, cells, etc.
