im gonna be a sr in hs, and plan to pursue pre-med classes in college.

of science classes, ive taken
- intro to bio and AP bio
- intro to chem

i have no physics background, so if i have to pick between ap physics or ap chem which is more useful. would it be to my advantage to take ap physics to get a physics background before a pre-med curriculum, or ap chem since that will help alot with first year of chemistry in college ??? thanks

AP Chem would help your path :D I guess it might be good to get a physics background before high school lets out. But I <3ed Chem, and I'm sure you will too!

i'm planning on being a pre-med track/ chemistry major and i decided not to take physics ap in hs. i took chemistry. 1. it's a lot more interesting. 2. it's more useful for premed majors. 3. i was going to take the minimum in college for physics anyway so why waste a year in hs when i was going to do the same amount in college, and i doubt it'll be that hard without background. i'll just take the least advanced physics class to start.

take chemistry ap, you'll love it and i think it's more beneficial to have chemistry background for collge than physics, esp for premed majors.

You're going to have to take both in college. ...Many a pre-med student in college has had his/her plans cut short because of a c ord in physics. Take it in high school to give your self a fighting chance

AP chem is hard. and u need that as a basis for medical school (for example, biochemistry) . you only need one course in physics and after that you don't really use it (it's like they just threw it in there). I've taken both. Physics was good because of good teacher. Chem was bad cuz our teacher was not prepared (first year teaching AP Chem) so I crammed PR a few weeks b4 and got a 4.
