Physics Team Selection

U.S. Physics Team

It says on that page that "AAPT is responsible for recruiting, selecting and training teams each year to compete in the International Physics Olympiad Competition. This selection process begins in early January when high school teachers nominate their best students."

If you would still like to take this test to try out for the team, but your teacher is not a member of AAPT (I think she was, but she hasn't renewed her membership yet), what should you do? How did everyone else become registered to take the first selection test?

I don't think he has to be a member. I just bugged my teacher a bit and he filled out some forms for me. (you do have to pay a fair amount of money, though.)

I like how this thread is on the Caltech forum. :)

whered you get the forms?

Go to here and click on "Registration"

note: is it expensive. see if you can get some other students to take it with you, that way the teacher will see it as less of a waste.

Thanks a lot man.

its not gonna be early enough for the decisions, but i am gonna take it too! >.<
didn't take it past years because some people told me that i had to be a citizen to take it(which isn't true)

my school already registered, but its quite expensive when you compare it to bio or chem. I hope to pass the MC mech part... but after that would be like.... 0 for me
good luck!
one of the person from my school made to the camp last year and he got in EA
