Next year, I was planning on taking two science (Honors Biology and Physics), with Honors Precalc, along w/ some other classes. But I heard physics is very hard, and my parents are making me take just take Bio, even though I had high A's in Algebra II first and second quarter.

Do you think it helps if I take take Precalc next year, and physics the following? Thanks for your input!

ugh, I hate physics…but nonetheless you should still take it. It really depends on what type of learner you are to be honest. I’m not a spatial learner (which sucks when you get to vector word problems xD)Though, I’m great at Chemistry, just comes naturally… however with physics I have to sit down and really read the textbook in order to grasp the conceptual aspects. Word problems aren’t really a big deal so long as you a) know the formulas and b) know how to solve prototypical problems. Also it doesn’t help that my teacher doesn’t explain the material very well…But you should take it, just know about the aforementioned issues coming into the class (who knows, it could come pretty naturally to you ) good luck :)

Oh, hey! Welp, but of things. I had an odd Physics teacher in comparison to others, and there was only one Physics class at my high school. So, here is the thing. It requires both scientific/abstract thinking to reach the conclusions and a good understanding of the math. I took honors pre-cal my junior year and physics my senior, and the two have similarities. However. Pre-cal can be annoyingly confusing, more so with a bad teacher. My physics experience was far better and when I was learning about things like vectors there, I understood it far more than when in pre-cal.

In honors Physics, you’ll be learning a lot at a high speed, but again. Completely depends on the teacher. My physics class would have been honors if the school board would have approved his course set up, but they didn’t. Which I sad face to. Physics might be hard, but if you’re good at math/science, psh. I got a B easy, and I don’t always have time to apply myself to mathematical concepts. It’s fun, though. Really fun.

But…the Physics you will be taking will be Algebraically based, I’m betting. That means that taking Pre-cal won’t have a huge affect on it.

My most important advice would be talk to the teachers that teach those classes before-hand. Get to know what material they are teaching, how long they spend on a unit, what books they may be using, a lot if you need to know. Having a good understanding of algebra and science is good, though. And also, Biology is fun! Be excited for that.
