Piano people out there!

Oh yeah, I forgot.
Schubert sonatas--someone mentioned D. 960. I want to add the G major one and the 2 A major ones, esp. D. 664. Ah...

xGods_Favoritez: do you play piano too?

Gumball, are you in California doing the CM thing? Are you doing panel this year or next?

List the pieces you guys are working on!

Here's mine:
-Bach Prelude and Fugue no.17 in Ab WTC book I
-Beethoven sonata op.31 no.2 in D minor "Tempest"
-Chopin Ballade no.1 in G minor op.23
-Ginastera Third Argentinian Dance
-Chopin etude op.25 no.5 in E minor

Schubert's Moments Musicaux

No, I'm simply very familiar with piano literature.

Um...was that sarcasm? Because I was going to ask who you study with at Andover..haha?

Haha, actually I was being dead serious. Sorry for the misunderstanding, it's hard to tell sometimes when one is online :)

I took a music class with Mr. Walter though, and he played a lot of piano pieces for us, which broadened my familiarity with piano repitoire. Der Erlkonig, for example.

Not working on anything right now. I only took piano for a couple of years (don't have time in my schedule now). Usually, if I can get free time, I find some music and learn it.

Let's see, the last thing I learned was a theme to an opera from the 1870s...don't remember title or composer, though.

I'm currently having fun with Jesse Harris "Don't Know Why" (performed by Norah Jones). I think I'm going to find more jazzy pieces to play because they're fun.

OMG...I just saw the people playing in the Schimmel competition. 12 year olds have Islamey and Liszt's Transcendental Etudes in their reps!

xGods_Favoritex: Thanks for the clarification! I think I have sarcasm in my head for everything now...

Where was this Schimmel competition? There sure a lot of prococious young children out there.
