piano

is there some way i could get teaching myself piano during my freetime to look like an extracurricular?
does music ability only count if you've like won awards?
is there any way i could work it into my application? assuming i spent an hour a day practicing. because i like playing piano but i don't take lessons or anything.
what about guitar?

sorry if its a dumb question, but i just realy dont have anything cool to put about myself on an application.

ye it probably won't seem too special. Everyone plays piano and a lot of people spend a lot more time practicing than you do.

I think that if you enjoy it, put it down as an extracurricular activity, and put down the 7 hours/week you spend doing it. Write in an essay that you're self-taught. It's a hobby for you, it seems. So, why not put it, especially if you think you have nothing else to put down?

You can send in a recording if you want, also. This is typically, of course, if you are rather extraordinary or you plan on majoring in it.

It will look better than that amount of time spent playing video games or watching TV, but will not be a hook of any sort. Formal lessons with a teacher would have looked better still.

ok I'll add it, but i wasn't planning on using it as a hook, i just wanted more stuff on an application so id look better
