Picking a Major?

I'm a first year exploratory(undecided) major. I'm torn between math, advertising, and international affairs. As a curiosity, would I be able to double major in advertising and math with a minor in urban planning, then go on to get a masters in architecture? If not, what are some good pre-architecture tracks(fsu does not offer an architecture major)?

While they might seem like they would be related, you might be disappointed if you minor in Urban & Regional Planning expecting that it will prepare you for architecture grad programs. URP focuses more on things like land use, not so much building design (beyond making buildings efficient and “green”).

My advice is to do some research on architecture programs that you’re interested in. Find say, 10-12 of them. Write down what they each want for prospective students and then compare what you’ve found. Typically, they’ll be pretty similar among a majority of schools. If they’re pretty math-heavy, you’ll probably want to go the math route.

Though you may be better suited by transferring elsewhere and pursuing an undergrad program in Architecture instead of trying to find a post-grad program that you may not even be prepared for without the foundational knowledge from undergrad.
