Coffee is always available, but the deserts that go in there are just whatever is leftover from earlier. After breakfast/lunch it is usually pastries, and mostly cookies after dinner, but a lot of times it disappears quickly (pulled an all nighter last night and went to get coffee and food but didnt have any food which really sucked. On hour 35 since last sleeping and not tired yet for some reason). They don't keep it stocked at all times, but it is still nice to have. But trust me, it is not free, the cheapest west campus meal plan next year will be $2350/semester which is outrageous. I could eat in the ivy room 3 times a day for cheaper than that.

^ Or eat from the vending machines twice a day for even less.

Oh, also - one of the Vet school vending machines (it's in the building opposite the research tower), is stocked with Coke.

Not just Pepsi.

I absolutely love Cornell's Dining. It's not just the food but they try to make it a "bonding" experience with things like house-only dinners where everyone sits with their whole floor, misc. professors (some from other schools and ivies). The actual quality is great too.

It's one of the reasons I take my sweet time going home for breaks. Home's great, but I'm totally comfortable here.

lol collegehopefull. I was just making a point though, I would never eat in the ivy room 3 times a day, but the fact that it would still be cheaper than meal plan shows how overpriced the house plan is. It's something like $8 a meal if you get 21 meals/week and never miss one (next year, a little bit cheaper now). What's weird is that someone is moving into what had been an empty single on my floor in becker right now. Someone was in it last semester but I don't know what happened to them, or why it was vacated for half a semester before housing put someone in it. My hallway has way too many guys now. I think this makes either 8 or 9 other guys I have to share a bathroom with (and technically it is coed and not even mens) while there are only two girls that share a bathroom on my end of the hall! Housing should not let something like that happen...

I can only eat from the vending machines. Two times a day. Sigh.

I wish housing assignments were just random.....

Wow thanks for the pics!!! Can you take some pics of the inside of CALS buildings? I want to know how the CALS buildings look like!

Talk to you hallmates much?

^I just transferred this semester, I never met that person (there was a name on the door when I got here, but I never saw her and ~2 weeks into the semester no more name tag on door). I am actually going to be in an apartment off campus with one of my hallmates next year; I am not antisocial, just new to cornell. I mostly hang out with other new transfers from this semester, none of which are on my floor.

Makes sense. It's just odd that a person would disappear and nobody know what happened to them.
