how long will it take for you to get the PIN by e-mail after you submitted the common application, the harvard suppliment and the application fee?

You send them an email with the word PIN in the subject and your name in the email and they send you your pin in a few hours. It explains it here:
https://admweb.fas.harvard.edu/ha/submit?module=applicant&usecase=applicantCheckStatus

i have done this a few days ago...

At first my daughter sent her full name, including middle, and got an error message saying no such person. Also, you need to sent the email from the address you gave with your ap. or else you don't get anything. I hope this helps.

Umm I did as instructed and still haven't gotten anything (no error messages, either)...and it's been a couple of days.

I think first you have to get a letter from Harvard:
"Once we receive your Common Application, you will receive a letter within 2-3 weeks providing you with your application access code."

And then, if you forget it, you can send an e-mail asking for it:
"Forgot your ACCESS CODE? Email admpin@fas.harvard.edu with PIN in the subject line and your complete name in the message body and we'll send your ACCESS CODE to your email of record."

Correct me if I'm wrong

No, she didn't get a letter (and still hasn't received one) Just sent her name to the email address with PIN as subject line and got the Pin number in a few hours. She did try it from an email that wasn't listed in the ap and got no response.
It could be that they are bogged down and haven't processed you ap yet. SHe sent it in around 10/15 and did the PIN email thing about a week later.
