What is the 75th percentile SAT score for Pitt? Trying to decide if a 1480 will help or hurt with OOS merit for NJ kid in highly rejective STEM hugh school with 4.0 GPA and strong electives?

Apply very early but don’t expect. Merit.

My student had higher stats and only got $5k

Pitt merit seems to vary quite a lot based on major. They don’t seem to give much (or any?) to CS majors. But my S23 who applied for engineering was surprised to get 22K merit – he had high stats but nothing crazy. He did get his application submitted in early October which may have helped. It’s probably best to peruse past threads to see how much merit people are getting in the student’s intended major.
