pitt of rutgers

I've already sent in my housing stuff for u of pitt, but i just got accepted into rutgers (in state) and now im not sure what to do.

I'm studying anthropolgy and i know that rutgers has a really great department, but im also under the impression that pitt does to (if you know how their department stands let me know).

just tell me what you would do in a similar situation, or if you were in this type of situation what you decieded and how you feel.

It's a simple question-- which school do you like better? I've always liked Rutgers, it's a great school. Pitt has an excellent anthropology program with some top professors. How much did you like Pitt when you visited? Is it worth the OOS tuition?

overall i like pitt better, and i don't like the idea of being 10 minutes away from home at rutgers. but, ive recently come under the impression that rutgers has an almost outstanding anthro. undergrad program. the best education and opportunities is most important to me. i don't know if i could get the same resources at pitt

Don't worry about resources with Pitt. Pitt has a $1.8 billion endowment, and ranks 6th among public univeristies in research spending (behind Berkeley, UCLA, UIllinios, UMichigan, and UNC.)

And if you're into rankings, the NRC ranks Rutger's anthropology program only one spot higher than Pitt's.

Like I said, just go with the school where you will feel most comfortable. You'll get a great education at either one.

Besides the major, you also need to take into consideration each school's campus life, distance from home, finances, etc. You need to go where you will be comfortable, as Pat said. What kind of opportunities (i.e., field experience) does each school offer to those studying anthropology?
