Hi so I have been looking at all the things I need to do for starting Pittsburgh in the fall and saw that one PittStart session is required. When are these sessions offered? I’m from out of state so I’ll have to plan ahead on when I can go. Also I saw that there is a session offered that corresponds with orientation but since you meet with your adviser and sign up for classes at PittStart is it not a good idea to wait until right before classes start? Would I not get into the classes I want?
Hello @Applicant7,
PittStart sessions are offered through the summer. In the next few weeks, you should get an invitation to PittStart (if you have committed to Pitt by paying your tuition deposit). The invitation will direct you to log into our PittStart site where you can see the PittStart session dates that are offered specifically to you depending on the school you are entering. You will have several dates to pick from.
Registering for an earlier PittStart does have some effect on the courses that will be available to you, that is correct. BUT, in order to ensure that all students get an opportunity to get into the classes they need, we do release seats for some classes later in the summer. That way, those who attend later PittStarts can still get the courses they need.
Hope that helps!

@hailtopitt1787 How soon after paying the deposit will the PittStart invitation arrive?
@RyanG1207, About a week, I believe.
