Pitt vs. Northeastern?

Hey guys,

I basically narrowed down my decisions to Northeastern University and University of Pittsburgh but I am in a bit of a dilemma. Northeastern is my dream school however due to the fact that I got accepted into their NUin program my financial aid package is pretty low. Pitt offered around the same amount but the overall cost is lower since I apply for in state tuition.

My parents are pushing for Pitt solely for financial reasons but my heart is set on Northeastern. I don’t want to give up on an amazing opportunity and I don’t know what to do.

Thanks!

Is Northeastern affordable? It doesn’t sound like it.

Affordability is key - what are the exact financial figures for each? How much do you pay over the course of attending, what would be out of your parents pocket, what would be loans, for you and/or your parents.

Both are good schools - fit is important, but not at the cost of an arm and a leg, or even just a single arm. If Northeastern isn’t affordable, you have to face that reality.

Both are comparable in quality, but I’d choose Pitt all day, any day.

What could you do at Northeastern that you can’t do at Pitt? What do you plan to study? How much is the difference in cost?

It’s hard to see what would make Northeastern worth it unless you provide more information and justification.

I certainly understand the lure of Boston, I live here, but Pittsburgh is a pretty cool city too in the scheme of things.

Pitt is pretty awesome too!
