Which one is harder to get into?
Average GPA, SATs, etc. for each?
And whatever other helpful information there may be about getting admitted to either school? Thank you.

They’re fairly similar, but Pitt seems to be just a bit tougher overall, at least in terms of test scores at the two main campuses. Of course, Penn State might become much easier this year; that remains to be seen.

My own sense is that Pitt is more likely to look beyond the numbers and take into account essays, recommendations, activities, demonstrated interest and other hooks. Penn State gets so many applications (even this year) that it is very much strictly by the numbers. Pitt seems to like high SAT scores (and that can make up for a lower GPA). Penn State likes high GPAs and will more likely accept a high GPA, low SAT applicant. Just my impression from seeing this process for DSs in recent years.

Helpful information for getting into either school - apply as early as possible. It seems the sooner you apply, the quicker you will receive an acceptance. (I don’t know if rejections take longer though.)

Anyone else?
