Today I received my residence hall assignment. According to the email, I'm to be housed in Stimson college, but apparently Stimson college is in Roosevelt quad where the global studies undergraduate college is housed. I'm in ITS UGC.. so why am I assigned to Roosevelt quad?

Probably because Mendy is over capacity and so unless you want to sleep in the hallway…

The freshmen colleges are pretty meaningless, they just force you to those silly 101&102 classes that contribute nothing to your education and nobody remembers/cares about the years after.

So this is normal? I was under the impression that you’re housed strictly based on your UGC…

I imagined that the purpose of limiting the number of people in each UGC was to prevent this sort of thing from happening. I just want to know if this kind of thing normally happens, or if it’s potentially a mistake I should try to get corrected.

Call up campus res and ask? They have a phone number and email address, so I don’t see why you can’t pester them with questions. I do it all the time, just cause they have to answer them ^^
