<p>What's the difference between Math 1B and 2A?
I know I need to take a placement test but if I ended up getting into 1B would I be behind?</p>
<p>Depends on your major. If you’re an Engineering major I’d say you’re behind. If you’re a Bio. major, not so much. Math 1B is Pre-Calculus (trigonometry and such). Math 2A is (single variable, differential) Calculus. Personally I failed the placement test (ALEKS is a dumb program and my poor math skills just made it worse). I took 1B and the skills I learned in that class really helped me later on in Calculus, something I’ve never taken and did not really enjoy.</p>
