Aside from yoga or meditation classes @ the rsf, are there any relatively quiet places to meditate in or outdoors at cal? I figure my triple will be too cramped/loud.

If you’re in the Units, there’s a small and relatively closeted-off mini-courtyard next to the northwest building in each one (e.g. Cheney for Unit 1). Generally, the middle of the Unit won’t be THAT occupied, actually.

Try your floor’s common room early in the mornings; barely anyone uses them before classes.

That sounds good. Any where outside thsats equally nice/peaceful? And I couldn’t find any buddhist organizations on the site, but that seems a little odd to me- does anyone know of one?

strawberry creek and the lawn behind vlsb is pretty serene

I would be very shocked if Cal didn’t have a Buddhist organization, that might be an organization that would be cool to join. I like Meditation too, for me it helps me focus my restless hyperactive mind.

ya i second pacs 94-chillest class ever. the professor always seems like he just smoked a doobie

^what’s pacs 94? and is a doobie a regular cigarette or a marijuana cigarette or just some other drug in cigarette form (sorry I was raised in a sheltered environment, thus my ignorance on slang drug terms)?

PACS 94 is cool. Although now I hear he requires you to buy a book for the class, and do more write-ups than before. But it’s still a nice 1 hour break during the day.

There is a small reflecting pool that is kind of hidden between Moffitt and the Southeast Asian Library. I have a couple friends who used to go there to meditate sometimes. I personally like the big reflecting pool outside of Hearst/Stanley/Evans, but it gets a bit noisy during peak hours and Berkeley time.
