I have a question that seems kinda silly but I need to know anyway... does placing out of a class mean you get credits for it? Or (as I assume) is it just a way to get to do a more advanced class?

Placing out = no credits, doesn’t count towards graduation. If you place out of a class with AP credit, you can usually get the AP credit counted towards your degree. But no, if you start out at Calc 3, for example, you don’t get any credits for Calc 1 and 2.

Thanks! What about if you get your language requirement waived (because of your SAT/AP score?) do you not get credits for that either?

Nope, no credits for that either. In fact, for that, to even get the AP credit counted you have to take an intermediate language class at CU.
