SMU is a top choice for DS3 for business. He is currently a junior in High School and planning his math choices for next year. Is it worth it to push through AP BC calculus for possible credit?
On the SMU website, it looks like the credit earned would be for 1337 while business majors need 1307.
Does anyone know if they are interchangeable?
If not, he might opt for AP AB Calc since his ECs are very time consuming.
Thanks

Yeah, I don’t think taking AP BC Calculus would help him any (credit-wise) at SMU. I am a current SMU Business student, and I took AP AB Calc, had that test credit transfer just fine, and then never took another calculus class in college. The credits might be interchangeable, bc your son would have done more than he needed, but I wouldn’t count on that. You could try emailing Jim Bryan at jnbryan@cox.smu.edu, he handles undergraduate admissions to the business school.

Thanks Lilly!
