Can anyone give some information about premed day at WUSL, is it worth the trip for it?
We have to drive about 8 hours.
What kind activities or information make the visit worthwhile?

Wait what you mean by premed day?

yeah i have never heard of anything like this

Me neither. Maybe you mean spring preview days? If anything, WUSTL has an amazing campus and is really fun. The people there are SOOOOO friendly. And by visiting it, you can tell if you feel like it’s the right fit for you. If there is such thing and you go, you should definitely PM with what you learn or whatever. I went to Multicultural Weekend last week and was VERY VERY disappointed with the biology department info session.

Oh, what did you not like about it? I thought it was pretty informative, especially with the large packet of information that we received.

It was horrible. I didn’t want info on every little nitty gritty detail about being a bio major. I already know I want to be a bio major, so there’s no need to sell it to me. I wanted more of a pre-med info session about advisors, MCAT, etc. And who is actually gonna sort through that huge packet of the minutiae of being a bio major? Couldn’t they have made a concise, easy to understand powerpoint handout or something?

Yeah, I can see what you mean and I felt in a similar way since I intend to go into premed. However, I do understand why the session was like that, since although the focus may be premed, they want it to encompass bio major in general since I know quite a number of people who are going to WashU who wants to do bio major but not premed. I don’t think they want to let us worry about it too much for now, and if anything, there are quite a few resources on the WashU 2014 forum, in that package, and on WashU’s art & sci online premed section where you can get a good idea on what to expect in WashU, at least with premed advising. So far I quite like it :D

College happy,

Haha, you can’t exactly expect a Biology info session to center around Pre-med…After all, some people who like biology don’t in fact want to be doctors. The session I went to back in the scholarship weekend had a lot of information (and yes, I suppose it is obnoxiously lengthy). Get to reading.

I was told by the office of admission two dates for premed day this summer and here is the link to their website

[Summer 2010 Special Visit Days](http://admissions.wustl.edu/news/Pages/SummerSpecialVisitDays.aspx)

Ya, I can see your point IPadraic, but then they should have prepared a separate pre-med session. I’m sure there’s enough people considering Wash U who wnat to be pre-med that it would have been well-attended. Oh well.
