Planning to transfer from a SUNY school to Grove school of engineering, help!

Hi, I'm a graduating senior this year and although I ended up applying to a bunch of schools i didn't apply to any CUNY schools at all after bad advice from my college adviser. I ended up accepting the offer of one of the SUNYs I applied to because of financial reasons. It took me a while to realize City College is perfect for me (planning to major in computer engineering) and now I regret not applying. Bonus point is that I wouldn't have to dorm and I could just commute if I go to City College. I wanted to know if I can apply as a transfer student after my first semester in a SUNY to the city's grove school of engineering? My stats for hs are either above or the mean of what City accepts for incoming freshmen. Can I transfer to City College after one semester? Or do I have to wait a year? Thanks for all the help!

I went to a SUNY engineering school, and then transferred to science at ccny, your best bet is to transfer after one semester. this decision may be a little hectic, but i believe in the long run, it will save you some problems associated with transferring credits and such. Do your best to keep your GPA above a 3. and no grades below a D in your math and science classes. CCNY is a ***** about low grades for transfers.

Is it to0 late to apply NOW?

I think you still have a shot at getting accepted to CCNY. Not sure about the deadline for the Macaulay Honors College or Freshman Admission to Grove School of Engineering. You should contact the school directly to see what you need to do to get in this Fall either to CCNY or Grove School of Engineering. Your first 3 semesters will be devoted to Prerequisites anyway, so you can always apply to the Engineering program after attending CCNY after a year (if that is required). If you have already committed to a SUNY school, you can always back out of that commitment and lose your deposit and attend CCNY for Fall 2015.
