Plans after college

Now that everyone has pretty much gotten their acceptances and have an idea of where they are going, what do you plan to do with your degree after college?

I know it seems absurd, but I know many people who are going for a degree simply because they believe it will hand them a bag of cash and a ticket to stardom. Later in life they find that they hate their careers because they went into a career and life style they don't enjoy.

I'll start.

I'm transferring to UCSB as a Bus. Econ major with a focus in acct. I plan on working in the accounting industry for a few years and then start a business. I would like to go to business school in about 5 years to get the connections and education I need to effectively start and run a corporation.

Feel free to post regardless of major.

Sociology -> Human Resources Intern during UCSD -> Human Resources Generalist after degree for a couple years -> MBA -> Human Resources Manager -> Human Resources Director

I'm transferring to Cal and am a political science major (I'm thinking about minoring in Rhetoric). I want to go to law school but I'm also exploring other options in case my gpa and LSAT scores are'nt high enough to get me into a a good law school.

I'm transferring to UC Davis or UC San Diego majoring in Biological Sciences. After college, I hope to go to UC Berkeley's Optometry school, or any Optometry school for that matter, and we'll see how that goes... :)

Either:

English @ UCSB -> Law School -> Law

English @ UCSB -> Grad School for English -> ???

English @ UCSB -> Grad School for Film -> ???

Undergrad at UCB

MA (hopefully at an Ivy)

Law school

???????????????

Profit.

UCLA Philosophy BA > University of Michigan/Pittsburgh MA > Princeton PhD in Bioethics > Tenure track at UCLA/Cal > Live forever? lol.

yeah i know, script writing is still a big dream... but if it comes up, that'll be awesome. however, this is the current plan i'm going to roll with... not that it's any easier, haha.

UCSD Econ -> Air Force Officer.

(lol @ektaylor: profit.)

Legal Studies B.A. @ UCB -> Law School --> work for some sort of gov. or law enforcement agency. =)

You people... This is why California has so many damn lawyers... tsk tsk

Unlike most of you my plans are..

When I'm 40-50, I guess I can *work *that into my schedule.

ucla linguistics/psych---->research language acquisition and disorders---->MA possibly UCSD in Bilingual Education ASL/English and special education---->continue to research language acquisition of the autistic mind while teaching special ed. unlike the rest of you, I will never make enough money to pay off my loans.

hmm... i can't really take care of myself.. so getting a good wife is probably up there in the list... ahahaha...

i want an MBA... get into an investing firm... become a mutual fund manager...
and take over jim cramer's job when he retires... =D
if jim cramer is seeing this remember...

ME ME ME ME ME

You mean, when he dies of a heart-attack?

........ lol why? well he has a lot of stress but remember that he has no stocks in the market
so he can basically say anything he wants. he is not responsible for any losses

well then again who knows what goes on behind closed doors, he might wake up one day with 5000 threat e-mails... LOL

Become a financial genius and Pwn George Soros

Spend ALL of my money developing ways that kids / our posterity can be more tied with nature / the environment

Die. a man is guaranteed to things in life: birth and death--everything else that happens in between is coincidence. ( i think thats from no country for old men)

All of you damn lawyers......when are you guys going to start preparing for the LSAT? I wouldn't be surprised if some of you already are.
