Don’t over emphasize concussion! You may raise red flag

I completely disagree. Over emphasize the concussion all you want - so long as you can also heavily emphasize recovery.

During the spring semester of my junior year, my best friend suffered a climbing accident and was in a coma for about a week. It took him a long time to rehabilitate and recover, but he worked really, really hard, and recovered back to his former academic glory. Though his doctors didn’t want him attending school the fall of senior year (as well as the spring semester of junior year, obviously), he worked with his school administrators and teachers to catch up on junior year and entered school for the fall (as well as running cross country and doing speech and debate). At the end of senior year, he was back to being valedictorian, and had been accepted to Dartmouth, Pomona, and Harvey Mudd (where he is currently).

Again, emphasize the concussion issue as an obstacle you overcame, so long as you are able to show that you have fully recovered.
