There is a fairly heavy Northeastern presence for a southern school, although Tulane defines Northeast as also including the mid-Atlantic states, like Pennsylvania, NJ, Delaware, and Maryland (I think they count MD there, maybe they put it in the South, not sure. It is a pretty balanced geographic mix, with a lot from TX, CA, and of course the southeast. In fact Tulane claims, and I have never seen anything to contradict this, that they have more students from over 500 miles than any other school. WUSTL is up there too, but not quite as many as Tulane.

Southwest flies from St. Louis to New Orleans cheap if you plan ahead. If you decide to visit, let me know and I can recommend some hotels and restaurants.

My school lets the seniors take a week off school in October to go visit colleges, so I’ll probably go then. I’ll ask around then for recommendations.

Thank you so much. You have no idea how helpful you have been. I have always felt this strong attraction to Tulane, but I’ve been scared off before due to the greek scene and its size. You have comforted me quite a bit. Thanks!

My pleasure. I wish you the very best of luck and look forward to talking with you in a couple of months. October is a great time to vist, btw, but of course that is true a lot of places, lol.

CMC and Pomona are crazy hard to get into, especially with those SAT scores. CMC is pretty partial towards current events and debaters but I’m not sure how much that will help your chances. In all honesty i think pomona is a pretty long reach, but that shouldn’t stop you from trying. Good luck though!

Do you go to Pembroke?
