Please chance a normal kid!

On my list of ten schools U Delaware is the only one that NEEDS a teacher recommendation and it is my farthest reach. My info:

GPA:3.45
SAT: 1140/1630
pretty good extracurriculars
I live in NJ and go to a fairy good public school(we don't rank)

U Delaware was my top choice but, I know I have a very small chance of getting in and I do not know who to get a teacher recommendation from (but could get one if needed). Is it even worth going through the trouble of getting a rec. or should i just skip it.

Btw can you chance me on my other schools

Rutgers
George Mason U
Drexel U
Hofstra U
Montclair State U
Rowan U
U of Rhode Island
West Chester U
Salisbury U

Rutgers: yup
George Mason U: yes
Drexel U: probably but kind of a reach
Hofstra U: yes
Montclair State U: yuppp
Rowan U: absolutely
U of Rhode Island:yes
West Chester U: yes
Salisbury U: yes

All of these schools are in relatively the same range… you should do okay with admissions solely based on the numbers.'

Oh and I’m from NJ too :)

Chance me back: “Chance at Swarthmore???”
Thanks and Good luck!!

Rutgers- 80%
George Mason U- 90%
Drexel U- 65%
Hofstra U- 90%
Montclair State U- 100%
Rowan U- 70%
U of Rhode Island- 80%
West Chester U- 100%
Salisbury U- 90%

For U Del I’d give it a 50-60%. Remember that they take a lot of kids from in state, but you should go ED (if not already too late) and definitely get a recommendation. Write an interesting essay that says A LOT about yourself, but not in a showy way. This is where EC’s and being an interesting person helps you get to college. Don’t wimp out on your application. This is where you will spend your next four years, and everyone I’ve ever talked to loved/loves U Del.

You can also indicate on your Delaware transcript that if you got in, you would definitely matriculate (college word for attend). This is what Early decision does, but I think you missed that.

I just realized your name was yanksfan, and I’m from Philadelphia. **** you, and I hope you get rejected. JK, but seriously, I hate A-Rod.

Thanks very much for all responses(even wheretogo1), they made me pretty happy.
Udel doesn’t have ED but their priority deadline is Dec 1st which i will try to make

bump…

add James Madison to my list

anyone else?

uh, it doesnt look so good for rutgers with that gpa and sat.

yea that’s what i was thinking, i’m really hopping to be accepted though

So far i’ve heard and been accepted to two: Montclair St and Drexel!!!

I think you’ll be accepted into most if not all. Drexel you probably will get in but i don’t think (barring a desperate financial system) you will get too much money. Rutgers you’re in.

If they don’t accept you at Rutgers NB you could always go to Rutgers Newark for a year and then transfer to NB.

I think UDel is a reach if you’re applying from NJ since they get so many applicants from there. On the plus side if you are a male, they could use some at UDel (60% Female)

Also was accepted at Hofstra! 3 for 3
