So I live in Canada and I'm sure I can get into a university here. However a year ago I started talking to my parents about studying in the States. It would be very expensive, so I would need an almost full ride. Also my parents are only going to let me go to America if I get into a top, prestigious university there. They say there's no point in going to a state school, since I can get the same education here at our universities.

So please tell me do you think I can get into any of the Ivies, Stanford, MIT, John Hopkins or any other top US school! If not I think I will just do Premed here in Canada and go on to apply to American Medical Schools when the time comes.

Other things:

My Guidance Counselor knows me well and wants me to succeed. As for teachers I'm closest to my art teacher, but I wouldn't trust her with writing a recommendation. After her I'm closest with my Bio Teacher and Chem teacher.

As for the SAT, I'm studying right now for the May test. I've been taking practice tests an my first attempt at the SAT was a 1300,. However it's been increasing ever since and I am now at a 2000. I still have a lot of things to still learn so I'm guessing my actual will be within 2000-2200. (I'm also taking Barron's Practice tests, don't know if that matters)

Please give your honest opinion. I need to know if I should even bother with signing up for the SAT and going through the American Application Process.
(Sorry for any spelling or grammar mistakes, was in a hurry)
