Please Chance for Duke and UMich this is my first post

Please read this and tell me how my chances are it would really mean a lot to me and i'm currently freaking out.
Ok so the story is i'm applying early decision to Duke and early action to UMich. As of now, i'm mainly relying on my extracurriculars to compensate for my low GPA. But anyways, here goes:

btw, one of my brothers/sisters is graduate from Duke so hopefully that will help me

Personal Info: i'm a first generation asian in a largely white/jewish district

GPA: 93 - unweighted 96 - weighted. i'm not sure what it is on the 4.0 scale sorry lol. Also, about my gpa, my Freshman and Sophomore years were bad like 91s-93s but in my Junior Year I received 95s,96s.

Recommendations: I'm receiving two recommendations from close teachers that i've had for 2+ years in a row for AP courses. I'm also receiving a detailed recommendation from Councilman of my town (town i'm guessing a few hundred thousand people) as well as a recommendation from a governor in China (won't specify due to personal details)

Extracurriculars: (I left out a lot of less-important stuff. sorry about the crappy format, it should be consistent though)

I think your chances of acceptance to UMich are excellent and to Duke they are still decent, but not as good as UMich. Your ECs are good and the rec from a China governor and local councilman are very impressive, but you may or may not be doing yourself any favors by applying ED to Duke, since your upward trend in grades may not be for a long enough period before they have to make a decision. It’s possible that you get deferred into the RD round, pending your 1st semester grades, but I would be mildly surprised if you were outright rejected at Duke. I would remove some of the pre-high school participation or unnecessary stuff that your resume or list of activities currently contains: 4th-8th grade swim team, homecoming prince, using excel to manage attendance, etc.

Are you a Michigan resident? If so, it makes good financial sense to apply there. If not a Michigan resident, it will cost your your family a lot of money to attend. Even if they can afford it, is it money well spent? Good luck.

Duke ED should be fine for you. I know a moron who got in with a 2100, you’ll be fine! Your GPA isn’t that bad either! Umich is a match.

Chance a fellow recycling program initiator? :D
