Colleges and career
Major(s):biology/premed
Career goal(s): doctor :)
Colleges:
Tufts U
Brandeis U
Bucknell
BC (EA)
Providence C (EA)
Northeastern U (EA)
UConn (EA)
U Mass Amherst (EA)

i would not consider you anywhere near below average
in at conn and massamherst
probably in at the others but tufts may be a reach
this is imo, good luck!

As mhny said above, you should also look outside MA for colleges. For example, University of Washington in Seattle is a really good pre-med/biology school to look into. I would say it will be a match school for you. However,
Tufts - reach
Brandeis - slight reach
BC - slight reach
Northeastern - match
UConn - safety
UMass Amherst - safety

You are not below average at all! Well, maybe compared to other CCers...

Anyway, the only school I think you will not get in is Tufts. I wish your SAT II Bio score was higher as you are doing the whole Bio/premed thing. If you get a 2100+ SAT but below 2200 then you are in about the mean of Tufts, but considering that that score is probably pulled down a bit by other factors (great ECs, legacy, athletics, etc) there is a significant possibility that you won't get in. I don't see much problems with any of the other ones though.

I'm a Bucknell student who is a Neuroscience major also doing the pre-med program. I was bio but then I switched. I don't think you are below average and may have a better shot at getting in to Bucknell than you think. Bucknell does give need based financial aid and WILL consider your situation. (They aren't heartless here). They ask about extenuating circumstances on their financial aid application. If you are still interested in Bucknell I recommend doing an overnight visit. Basically you send the day with a host student and attend his or her classes. I think you also get an interview with admissions and during the interview you can bring up your concerns. If you have any further questions feel free to ask. I will try to help you or find the answer for you. Regardless of where you end up, I wish you the best of luck.

You're not below average. I don't know about your chances, but you look like a strong applicant. Good luck, and my condolences on the loss of your father.
