College of the Holy Cross (grandfather is an alum)

-Babson College

-University of Pittsburgh

-Penn State, University Park

-William & Mary

-Bucknell University

Also can anyone recommend good matches for an Accounting Major? (I have safeties don't worry and i understand that a lot of these schools will probably be reaches)

Thank you!!!

I’m not super familiar with Babson or Pitt, but I think you seem like a match with Bucknell, Penn St., and Holy Cross. Are you OOS for W&M? If so, it could be tougher. BC is really difficult, at least where I’m from, so that could be closer to a reach. If I were you, I’d not send in the ACT and work to improve your SAT. You seem to take advantage of what’s provided to you and are involved.

Bumpp.

You definitely will get into Holy Cross -you are a legacy. Pitt and Penn State seem like a good match for you, but its always good to improve your grades. I’d suggest you try to get straight A’s in your first semester of senior year (yes, this will be very hard since you are loading on 6 APs) and don’t apply EA/ED to your first choice unless you are a legacy. This will let the college admissions know that you are dedicated rather than a slacker. Usually, during EA/ED, many of the slots are filled up mostly with legacies, athletes and sometimes URM which account for the unusual percentage of applicants admitted.

@consultur thanks for the advice! I don’t think I will apply ED/EA anywhere because i don’t have a very clear cut first choice the moment

Holy Cross’ enrollment in the accounting major is limited to 32 students each year and admission is quite competitive.

@required_details‌ really? I’ve never heard of that before…

Yes for more information see
http://academics.holycross.edu/economics-accounting/why#Why</a> study Accounting at Holy Cross?

Yes it is a very highly regarded program and not easy to get into.

UT Austin #1 and in accounting and Indiana (you can probably get a scholarship) I think you would be perfect

@1980collegegrad‌ wow, thanks for the link! I never saw that before. I’ll really have to make sure my essays and test score improve.

@cnikroo‌ thanks for the suggestions, I’ll look into Indiana, but UT Austin is a little far (parents said no flying :frowning: haha)

when it comes to education everything is worth it
