I think I want to apply ED to Johns Hopkins. Can I get in to Hopkins RD? Do I have a shot at somewhere better? (i.e. Princeton or MIT) I'm a biology major.
My info:
-upper middle class white male from south jersey
-straight A's in all AP classes, tied for 1st in class
-Test Scores:
SAT: 2250 (800 Math, 740 Reading), 800 Chemistry, 790 Biology
AP: 5 (Biology, Chemistry, USH), 3 (English Lang), 5 more AP classes this year but only two years of foreign language
Extracurriculars:
-Did research over the summer at a neuroscience lab at Temple University
-NJ Governor's School of Science graduate (highly selective summer program, 85 top science students in state)
-Very few school-related extracurriculars, hope to be sci club president but no guarantees
-no volunteer service

Please help!!

Bump for my friend! Chance em people :)

You have a decent shot, but try adding in Stony Brook for pre-med as a back up as well.
It’s highly competitive, but you have a shot at it too.

Also, can you chance me as well to see if I could get into the School of Management at Binghamton University?

No notable (confirmed) ECs and no volunteer service at all makes your application pretty darn weak, regardless of your academic statistics. If this is your senior year, I strongly recommend that you also apply to some lower schools. Well-to-do white NJ male w/o ECs and/or volunteer hrs. just doesn’t appeal to many people as a person who does much outside of obsessive studying/doing nothing at all. I’m not saying that you are, but your application tells me that sort of description.

gadoff, what have you done with your free time? Sports, play an instrument, anything??

no, i dont play any sports, or do anything of that nature. (and btw, im not pre-med, im interested in research)

Theres not much else to say. My school has very limited clubs, and the clubs that have don’t really do anything, and ive never wanted spend every day after school at a bunch of clubs that don’t do anything just for college app sake, although in retrospect maybe I should have.

I know i don’t really have any hooks, but do i have a good shot at hopkins ED?
