<p>Undergraduate Education: One of the big SUNY schools</p>

<p>Major: Industrial and Systems Engineering</p>

<p>Minors: Economics & Environmental Studies. I am getting snubbed for the economics minor though because of budget cuts despite having met all the requirements, is this worth mentioning in my application or is it irrelevant given the programs I am applying to?</p>

<p>ECs: Have held officer positions in an environmental club, an engineering honor society, and a community service group.</p>

<p>GPA: 3.85/4.00</p>

<p>GRE: 530 V/800 Q/4 AW</p>

<p>LoRs: Presumably good</p>

<p>PS: Presumably good</p>

<p>Research/Internships: One at a campus greenhouse looking at integrated pest management and one in field ecology looking at soil/water nutrient interactions.</p>

<p>Intended Graduate School Major: Environmental Engineering</p>

<p>I am primarily interested in Master of Engineering Programs because I am not interested in pursuing a PhD and would like to transition from Systems Engineering to Environmental Engineering in order to jump start my career in that field.</p>

<p>I am looking at Cornell U, Duke U, Purdue U, Carnegie Mellon, and Johns Hopkins. I am aware not all of these schools have Environmental Engineering or even Master of Engineering programs, but I would be applying to their closest equivalences.</p>

<p>Is this a good group of schools considering my background or am I being too ambitious? I am not getting a lot of help from my undergraduate institutions in terms of applications because we do not have an environmental engineering program. </p>

<p>i don’t know much about industrial eng or environmental, but do your research experience contribute to those fields? How long did you do them for? What’s your major gpa? I think if your major gpa is above a 3.7 and w/ research experience in your field, you’d stand a pretty good chance at those schools.</p>
