Why are you looking to transfer? Specifically, why are you looking to transfer to exclusively Ivy League institutions?

UPenn and Columbia is a reach for anyone but I think you stand a fair chance.

Academic challenge, get out of my comfort zone socially, and trying to access a stronger alumni network because the school’s prestige matters for banking. Both these institutions are in a good region and have top placement into banking

Warning: do not bring up prestige in your transfer essay(s).

I didn’t.
In my Columbia essay, I focused on the academics of Columbia. I.e. the core, excellence in the economics department, specifically doing financial economics which my school doesn’t offer, New York City and access to facilities
In my Penn essay, I focused on a few more aspects like interdisciplinary studies, culture of Penn and Philadelphia, pursuit of other interests on top of economics
