<p>Hi guys! So I am planning to major in economics or finance. What are my chances at Boston College(legacy), Umass(in state), Virginia Tech, Uconn, Umaryland, and Clemson. And how much non-need based aid should I expect. Also if you have any suggestions please let me know! Thanks for all of your help. Here are some of my stats:*
3.69 GPA at a very competitive public school in MA
All but one honors or AP class in 4 years
1930 on SAT
Volunteer work tutoring
Member of national honor society
Member of National spanish honor society
VP of Spanish Club
Treasurer of Community Service Club
Great teacher recs
Steady job through the school year on weekends and during the summer
Won an award for Outstanding achievement in AP economics
Member of the business club
Played basketball for 2 years on JV</p>
<p>Historically BC hasn’t published average UW GPA statistics though admissions presentations and the boards here on CC point to an average somewhere around 3.75. If true, then your GPA is only slightly below that. Stats for 2011-2012 show that the 25th%-tile SAT was 1890; you’re over that but just barely. Even with the rigor of your schedule I think you need to view BC as a reach school. Additionally, the business school seems to need even higher statistics. </p>
<p>As far as aid goes, BC seems to be less generous than other schools - from three cases I know personally, BC seems to run 10% below other school’s offers.</p>
