bump!!!1

With a killer essay and recs, you should be good. Man, I am so jealous of you right now. Is the Columbia ED acceptance rate actually 22-23%? That’s comparatively sweet.

yep! ED was 22-23% this year and overall (reg and ED) it was 8% lmao. so reg kids had it tough =/

suggestions please! thanks very much!

Actually, I believe the ED acceptance rate this year for Columbia College was 17%. (My son was part of the group.) No matter, though. I think your chances are really good. Keep up the great work!

oh sorry! my stats were a little off i guess
regardless, ill take 17% over 8ish% :)

suggestions please! thanks very much!

bump!!!

Haha wow, I live in Fairfield CT, what school do you go to?

haha i would prefer not to say. its in connecticut nevertheless

suggestions please! thanks very much!

can anyone describe a comparision of my application to another (acceped) student’s?

bump bump bump!
please!?

How is anybody going to “chance” you if they haven’t been privy to your essays, short answers, teacher recommendations, and character? Those things can make or break your application.

Hello everybody I´m new in this thing.
I live in México and I´m hoping to transfer to 3 Universities: Yale, NYU or Columbia University.
I have to say My SAT´S are horrible!!! about 1,300
I´m in 3d semester of psychology.
But here is my story and why I wish to transfer.

All my life I have being with kids with different disabilities, and this have become a very important part of me. I met Sean ( a 9 year old boy with autism) When he was 4 and I was 12. I decided to come to Connecticut last summer to work with him in different therapies that of course Mexico does not have. So I went back to my school, and try to start with my dream wich is opening a school for autistic kids, that would use art as the first therapy and all the aid would be free. So when I wanted to start I found out Mexico doesn´t even have 1% of knowledge in autism and that my university classes are so lack in my interest. So I decided to come back, to prepare myself and then open the school because I know that staying in Mexico won´t get me very far.

I´m I writer, I publish my first book at the age of 17 ( wich I send a copy to Yale)
and I will publish my first novel this year.

I know Yale is looking for students that can give “more” than just an “A”
My GPA is good, is like 3.8

BUT MY SAT IS KILLING MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
pleaseee tell me they can consider me… or ok tell me the truth

thank youuuuu

wow thosee scores are awsomeee WHOAITZSCORY!!! now I don´t know if I even have a chanceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

thanks and @ mustafah78:

theres no doubt that you’re right. but my questions about my chances, i guess, pertain to how significantly my (this) resume will help me. obviously there are resumes that are better than others and some that are not; so comparatively, where do you think my resume stands.

and just to play it safe, i guess we can assume a decent (meaning a bit above average) subjective portion of the application.

Mustafah: All chance threads are based off of what is provided. The chancers have to assume that the other components of the application will be on par with the quality of what has been presented.

Scotty: The way you presented your ECs gives me the impression you have many passions. Hopefully, you can convey this on your application without making it seem as though you were resume-padding.

Everything you’ve provided looks very strong. You have a great shot for acceptance ED. Good luck!

I think you’re a better canidate for SEAS. You seem more like a science and math biased student.

yeah i think that holds true, but i wish to apply to columbia college for its pre-med program - which i think i somewhat justifiable given the med/sci portions of my resume

more critiques please!

INS

(ten char)

unless you bomb the essay.
