@nuimancel sorry if i sounded rude in my previous post but if i may ask what is your fully weighted UC GPA(Berkeley and LA) and UC capped(davis and irvine) and for 10th-11th grade only because thats what the UC’s look at. just keep in mind that all AP’s are given extra points(only up to 2 classes are given weightage per year for capped for uncapped there is no limit as long as they’re uc weighted), and the only honors given extra points are pre calc honors, chem honors, and spanish 3 honors and korean 4 and 5 honors i think
@BucketsUCSC I looked it up and calculated it so I might have made a mistake…it was kinda confusing…
Fully weighted UC GPA: 4.67
Weighted and capped UC GPA: 4.38
@BucketsUCSC Is a 4.38 GPA below average?!
bump
@nuimancel just tell me your grades and classes for 10th and 11th grade because those numbers dont soun right
but if those are the numbers a 4.67 fully weighted UC gpa witha 33 or 34 ACT is above average for UCLA and right on point for Berkeley but since you have pretty weak EC’s I’d say your right on point for UCLA and a high match or right in between a match and reach for Berkeley. and with that type of Capped UC gpa ur practically guaranteed for davis and irvine unless you COMPLETLY bomb ur essay or they think you’re so good of a applicant they reject because they know you wont go there(happened to my friend at irvine which was his safety) he now goes to penn
@itsisha a 4.38 capped GPA capped is out of 4.4 is very good(capped is what all uc’s except berkeley and LA look at)
and guarantees you admission to any of the UC’s(other than berkeley and LA) considering you have below average to average SAT/ACT scores and average to below average essay and EC’s however berkeley and LA look at uncapped gpa so there is no max so the average gpa at those schools is a 4.6 at LA and around a 4.65 at berkely o a 4.38 uncapped GPA at these schools would be considered below average yes
@nuimancel Im curious why you aren’t interested in UCSD as you have a really high chance of getting in there as well and people say they’re bio/pre-med program is right on par if not only SLIGHTLY below UCLA’s premed program
@BucketsUCSC I already included UCSD in my matches list. Also, I will PM you my classes. Thanks for your help once again!
lol didnt see
Bump! I need more people’s opinions!
the good thing for you is unlike Ivies and HYPSM UC’s are VERY GPA oriented
How did you achieve AP Scholar w/ Distinction by only taking 5 AP classes? I thought you need at least 8 AP classes scoring at least 4 on the exams?
I think you mixed up National AP Scholar with AP Scholar with Distinction.

Your academics are very strong. Your ec’s are strong. I would say the weakest point on your app is the lack of academic awards but I don’t know how much those matter. I’m assuming you’re applying this year in which case it would be to late to take APUSH even if not having it hurts you? I think that it would matter so much though because of the overall strength of your academics and stats. As for other schools to consider, maybe Rice? They are big on diversity so being an international applicant probably helps and your academics are in range.
@amizzle46 not trying to diss OP but her EC’s aren’t strong I’m a sophomore aiming for UCSD/UCD/UCI/UCSB and i already have more leadership oppurtonities and community service hours and overall more impressive Ec’s than her
I think you will get into UCSD (match). But UCB and UCLA are high-match for you and most likely you get into one of the two.
