No way! MIPA camp @ MSU!? I go there!!! :)

@liv4physicz MIPA, say what? I did AAJA J-camp

bump bumpitty

Ohhh, MIPA (Michigan Interscholastic Press Association) has a week-long journalism camp early August every year that I go to. And they refer to it as a “J-Cation.” But now that I think of it, it’s not exclusive to Asian-Americans. By the way, are Indians considered Asians (ORMs) in the college application process?

In my opinion, you have a good chance at Stanford, although I would like to see a bit more uniqueness shine through.

The White House page, for example, was extremely interesting, and while all those sports clearly show dedication and must have required enormous amounts of your time, they also fall short of differentiating you from mainstream applications.

Either have some fabulously interesting essay topics in mind or try to add another item or two that might cause an admissions officer’s eyebrows to perk up in pleasant surprise.

stop worrying, that’s my advice. I didn’t have nearly those stats, and I got in! Just be yourself, and let your “you-niqueness” shine through!

I seriously doubt this. The acceptances for both TASP and AAJA were sent out yesterday and today, and look at the date of the post: it’s the beginning of Apri.
Furthermore, you can’t possibly do all these summer programs because they’re intended for rising seniors only. TASP lasts 6 weeks, Page 1 month. I don’t see how you don’t have schedule conflict. AAJA’s date will conflict too.

Are you a rising senior? I know this maybe your dream stats, but look, why not come back in half a year and show us what you really did?

btw I was accepted to both TASP and AAJA this year along with two scholarships to Europe and Middle East this summer :)

actually belly, i did the page program and AAJA in the summer after sophomore year

■■■■■. You said you were an 8th grader in another post.
