Bump

I’ve got to say, it’s not looking good. GPA is fine, though slightly lower than everyone else’s. But SAT/ACT is quite below par. ECs are solid. Unfortunately, you’re also Asian (Indian) and international.

Actuarial science or math major? Where are the math contest awards? Or even math club? Seems like a weird choice, your app doesn’t fit, and that might go against you slightly.

UPenn (Wharton) - high reach. rejected.
U of Illinois - Urbana Champaign - don’t know enough about this school
U of Michigan - same. seems like a reasonable chance though
Columbia - high reach. probably rejected.
Claremont Mckenna - don’t know this school XD
Stanford - high reach. rejected.
USC - don’t know
Boston College - don’t know
NYU Stern - reach. my guess is waitlist.
University of Virginia - match?
McGill - reach (unless you are considered as a Canadian applicant, which makes it a lot easier)
University of Toronto - match? (again depending on Canadian-ness)

only my opinions of course.

will i be considered a canadian applicant if i am a canadian passport holder and a resident?

resident? then yes. so McGill and U of T would be predictably easy to get into. not sure if you were just a citizen.

ballin@thebubble: Get the SAT scores higher definitely unless you are very unique in your own way.

thanks…
anyone else?

That would be a no to UPenn, unless you get your SATs for sure to AT LEAST 2100, and have outstanding essays and recs.

oh
bumppppppppp

wow
ages later, bump!

If you get your test scores up, you should have a decent chance because your GPA is excellent… Especially at Wharton because you show dedication to one certain passion - math/banking, etc. - as shown through your EC’s and working in NY at different firms… Where are you from anyway? If you’re an international applicant, I think that that’s looked on favorably…

Chance me too please? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/728450-chance-rising-senior-fl-ivies-please.html

Good luck!

thanks a lot!

In my opinion, pretty stellar extracirriculars.
It’s very hard to say because I have never evaluated an international student; I do not know what standards colleges look for.

However, rank is pretty impressive. I would recommend raising SAT scores a bit. If you can just get a 100 more pts than expected (2200 eventual) and 1 more pt on ACT (33), I think you will have a very solid chance.

Overall, I would say you are a formiddable applicant. Best of luck!
