You have a good chance at these schools, and, like others have said, I think you should a) improve your SAT but b) look into more reach schools (for instance like others have suggested, Carnegie mellon)
Thank you @admiral12
I agree with the others. If you can bump up your SAT score a little more, you’ll have an even greater chance of acceptance into Lehigh and Villanova. Overall, you have good EC’s and volunteer work, so think about adding some reach schools to your list.
Thank you @ccsch48
- Lehigh University:Accepted
- Penn State University - Main Campus: Accepted
- University of Pittsburgh:Accepted
- Villanova University:Accepted
- West Chester University: Accepted
- Temple University: Accepted
I don’t see how you could get rejected from any of these. You should try to apply to reach schools too because you might get in. Also thanks for chancing my friend and I.
@Mynameisboi Thanks a lot!
You definitely have a strong application as it is now, and I think you can get into all the schools you have on your list, though Lehigh might be a little harder. Biochem is a competitive major though, so to make your application stand out, I would continue doing internships with anything that relates to it. Colleges tend to look for long term extracurriculars, however, like something you’ve been doing since freshman year or earlier. Other than what you have been doing at Church, the others seem like something you’ve been doing to enhance your application. Like other people have said earlier, try and take up more leadership roles. Private schools tend to value the more personal aspect of your application, like your extracurriculars and essay, than your test scores and GPA, so even without retaking the SAT, I think you’ll be fine. Overall, you have a lot to offer so don’t worry to much and enjoy the rest of high school!
@zixinyu Thank you! That really helped me
good luck with Lehigh, I’m applying ED next fall but I can see you getting into all those schools
Thank you very much @Cw82200
Any more suggestions about my app and any improvements that I could make?
Your GPA is really good!! Take the SAT again and try to raise your score, or take the ACT to see how you’d do on that!
Thank you @atl4444 Yea… I just retook my SAT’s waiting for the scores. I think it would be at least 1250 because it was that easy.
I think your extracurriculars are fantastic an definitely on par with those of past admitted students. However, like many others have also said, I would try to raise your SAT score to at least 1300 or 1350 to improve your chances. Good luck!
All looks pretty good, though I would recommend retaking SAT’s and seeing if you can get a higher score, if so, who knows, you might be able to do even better
Just try to raise that sat and you’re in to all those schools. Can you chance me back?
Honestly I think you apply to harder schools as well. Those are all matches and safeties for you! Just retake the SAT and you’ll be in good shape. Study all summer!
Also chance me back: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1995586-chance-me-for-upenn-ea-hyp-and-georgetown.html#latest
Thank you all!
Btw, I also added NYU and Drexel to my list.
Dude you can’t be saying the SAT was “that easy” and then saying you think you’re gonna get a 1250. A 1250 is not gonna get you into NYU. For a place like NYU, you need at LEAST a 1350 to be considered. Grades are important, but test scores probably matter even more. Saying the SAT was ‘easy’ and then saying you think you’ll get at or around a 1250 isn’t getting you into a place like NYU. You need, to be considered a strong applicant, a 1450 or higher.
