Hi, John. Before I provide my advice, I would strongly suggest that you communicate to site administrators that you accidentally provided too much information. Your use of your full name for your profile as well as your inclusion of towns near you as written in your volunteer work is very worrying – someone could easily identify you, and I am concerned about your safety and privacy.
As for the schools you listed, I think you have a strong chance of getting into all of them, except maybe Lehigh. It is clear that you have set the bar low – I’d consider a few higher schools (maybe throw in Swarthmore and Carnegie Mellon as reaches).
Overall, you have great stats although there are things you should work on. The number one thing on your list should be to retake the SAT and get as high of a score as possible. Your EC’s are okay, but to be honest, most of them look like fillers – you need to do something within those clubs that is something you can expand on and write about (i.e. organize a community event for the Anti-Bully Club, where you are the leader and not just a member). Your GPA is excellent, but my concern with that is that you haven’t taken the hardest classes, which might also explain why your SAT is so low in comparison.
All of that being said, I think you stand a great chance for all of the schools you listed given your current stats. Lehigh might not be as likely, but if you work on what I suggested, I think you will improve your chances immensely (get that SAT up!!). I also provided the reaches because, well, it is alway worth a try – don’t underestimate your abilities. I wish you the best of luck!
Schools, obviously, apply to a BC level school and see what happens… it doesn’t hurt. And you would be a good candidate at those schools if you could get ur scores up to a 1250-1300.
I think you have wonderful EC’s and a great background in volunteer work to show for yourself. I also think that you should apply to a few reach schools who can view you holistically and notice your emphasis on giving back and music. One thing I would work on is your SAT score because your grades are great but colleges might think they’re inflated if you’re standardized scores don’t match up. Plus (and as a fellow high school student, i reallly hate to say it), but SAT is sometimes more highly regarded than EC’s at competitive schools. Overall, I think you’re a great candidate for the schools you have in mind and with a little push on your SATs, I think you will do just fine. Also, if you don’t mind, could you chance me back? Like you, I’m stressing.
@“John Thomas” Honestly, I think you have a great shot at getting into these schools! Your SAT does need to go up a little, I recommend taking it again ASAP because you’re gonna want to focus on those essays next. Otherwise, good luck!
