- 40 hrs (11): YMCA volunteer camp counselor
-18 hrs (12): Freshman orientation at my high school

Writing is my strong point, and I've already finished most of my essays, and they look quite promising. I am very hard-working, expect to have excellent recommendations, and I really hope to get into a great school! Please offer your opinion!

Again, schools I am applying to:

Duke, several Ivys (including Harvard, to offer some perspective), and other top 20 schools. If you know of any other schools you think would be a better option for me, please don't hesitate to mention it!

I wouldn’t send the Biology SAT 2. Btw, how did you manage a 5 and get a 640???

Maybe because I took the SAT II Biology before I even took a freshman year biology course.

I think your a match for duke, some of the easier ivies like dartmouth, and cornell. I would mention in your essay that you didn’t have the resources for a full scale project, I don’t know your community or financial situation but college love anything that proves you had motivation, and are determined to continue studying despite the economic setback.

CHANCE ME BACK PLEASE!!! I COULD REALLY USE THE FEEDBACK

wow looks pretty solid. I think your one potential problem area might be your rank. your GPA is fine, but your rank is a little low. you’ve got some stellar ECs, and a lot of awards as well. your URM status will definitely give you a boost, but is not enough to guarantee admission. either way, you’re going places. good luck!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1369061-chance-rising-junior-top-20-schools-will-chance-back.html

I think you should be able to get into at least half of the ivy schools and most likely duke too.

You are beyond the top 10% of your class which is VERY low for the ivies and other top 20 schools. Unless your school has had kids with your gpa and similar class rank get into those schools, I would aim lower.

URM status can only go so far in boosting your application.

Everything except your class rank looks very strong. Your ECs show that you take lots of initiative and you have a very diverse profile. I don’t think your class rank will hurt you because the rest of your achievements show that you really are a solid, competitive scholar. Should be good for all of your schools, although you can never tell. Please chance me back if you’ve got a minute!

Good luck with everything!
