<p>Florida Resident , 18 Blk/Wht First Generation College </p>

<p>My 9th & 10th grade year were horrid , due to abuse , the murder of my niece, and the trial. This is reflected in my GPA which is a 3.0 uw .</p>

<p>Ap classes ; Hum Geo , World His , Apush , Lang, Psych , Lit, Euro, Stat , Gov, and Macro .. everything else was honors .</p>

<p>EC's; I'm chairman of student court, class treasure , in government club , a SkillsUsa competitor ( culinary arts ), Student Ambassador . And double certified through the National Restaurant Association(First time in school history ). </p>

<p>My grades have been on a drastic upward trend. I have always taken the most rigorous courses. I'm also planning on applying for Summer. </p>

<p>Act score : 21 :( I know this is bad but I just took my SAT Nov 5th . I am awaiting the results. </p>

<p>Dream school: FSU

<p>ACT is a bit low for FSU. Do you have time to take them again before you reply? If you write a good essay, and perhaps include information on the difficulties of your first two years, then you could possibly have a chance.
Do you want to stay in Florida for school?
There are two schools: Eckerd and Flagler, in Florida that I think you have a better chance at based on your ACT’s. There is also a school, Stetson U, that i think you would definitely make it into. Good luck.</p>

<p>You need to specify is you’re full pay or looking for financial aid. There is some bend for a URM, but if you need money too the bend goes away.</p>

<p>Well I’d say you have a decent chance at FSU but if you want some public schools that are easier to get into you could try University of Central Florida, University of South Florida, and Florida International University.</p>

<p>I would say that you have a decent chance since you are a minority with a backstory. The 3.0 is ok, just keep taking the SAT & ACT & maybe get tutoring. Colleges like an upward trend. By all means do not get your heart set on one school. Pick several schools & go for it. I’m sorry for your traumatic first two years & the fact that you stayed in school & have excelled is remarkable. There are so many schools that would love to have you!</p>
