And yes, I know it’s an impacted school, but beyond that I’m not sure what my chances are or if I should even bother with my current stats. I’d really like to get into the film program and I do have a portfolio of screenwriting and short fiction samples but I’m not sure if that would help either. Their portfolio requirements for their spring 2018 app round (which I plan on applying for) haven’t been posted yet.
Also, I’d be coming from a community college. Not sure if there’s a preference for that but there you go.
GPA: 3.5 UW; used the CSU calculater to see what my CS GPA would be and it’s still a 3.5
ACT: 26, don’t even know if I should retake it.
EC: Phi Theta Kappa member, Psi Beta member, Student Ambassador, completed the Disney College Program (in CA no less), volunteered at the 3 Rivers Screenwriters Conference, work parttime at a bookstore, do a lot of freelance writing work.
I currently have 62 credits, so chugging away for another semester to raise my GPA when I already have all of my pre-req classes would feel sort of like a waste. If Long Beach is a reach, I’m open to any suggestion for other CSUs with good film programs.
Thanks in advance!
