Please chance me!! :)) senior who is stressed out!!

Hi guys! I’m a current high school senior who is waiting to hear back from my colleges. Here is my info:
Objective:
SAT 1- N/A
ACT- superscore is 30
SAT 2- I sent bio and us history both weren’t the best lol
Weighted GPA- 4.38
Rank- top 6-7 percent of my class
APs taken- US History, Bio, Chem, Government, Lang and Comp, Spanish,
Calc AB, Calc BC
Major Awards- AP Scholar, some awards for soccer, Science Essay contest for my school, and other academic awards from my school.

Subjunctive:
Extracurriculars (leadership in parenthesis)
Varsity soccer for 3 years- (JV captain for my freshman year) section champion for 3 years
Debate Club- 3 years (was a captain for the public forum team and world schools team)
Young Democrats- 2 years (co-founded and Vice President of the new club)
Played club soccer for like 10 years
National honors society
And a couple other small clubs

Job Experience-none
Volunteering- for three years I volunteered at an elementary school teaching kids how to play soccer. I also was a camp counselor for a science camp for a summer, as well as a science tutor.
Summer activities- researched in a lab at a large public research unversity for two summers which I continued to do during my senior year as an internship. (I sent research abstracts to all of my schools). I shadowed doctors at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota as well. I also attended a summer@brown 3 week course about techniques in DNA based biotechnology
Essays- pretty decent I had 4 people looks over them and edit them multiple times

Recommendations-

  1. My physics and calc teacher who I had for two years who adores me. She wrote a letter for me last year so I have a rough idea of how he recommendation sounded, which was pretty good.
  2. My teacher at the summer@brown program who wrote an amazing letter after the course was over.
Councelor Rec- I honestly have no idea
Interviews- I had an interview for Brown and Vanderbilt that both went pretty well

Others:
State- IN
School- public
Ethnicity- Asian and White
Sex-female
Income bracket- 200,000>
Hooks- someone in Indiana?? Haha I don’t really know

Schools: brown Cornell USC Wesleyan Carnegie Mellon tufts vassar Vanderbilt and Emory

My major is chemistry/biochemistry
Honestly I don’t know what kind of chances I will have because my test scores are trash. I’m hoping all of my research will look good and the fact that I submitted an abstracts. I already got into UNC chapel hill and a couple other schools and am just waiting for the really difficult ones.

Also, I’m wondering if a lot of demonstrated interest for Brown will help my chances since I attended a camp and have a recommendation letter from them.

Someone please help

Do you have any safety schools? Your Weighted GPA sounds okay–what’s your unweighted GPA? ACT is low especially if superscored- not all schools will superscore the ACT. What’s your composite in one setting?

Honestly, all those schools are going to be big reaches. But you did get into UNC OOS, so you must have put together a good app, so perhaps that bodes well for Emory and Vassar.

My school doesn’t do unweighted gpas also my act composite in one sitting is 29

I just calculated my unweighted gpa and it was 3.85

I think for brown and Vanderbilt and cornell ur kinda low. I did the brown precollege (summer at brown) too, but ivy leagues don’t track interest. Ur experience can just make your supplement for the school more unique and personal since I spent time there. Your stats are pretty low, esp the ACT… maybe tufts if you show interest but still your chances are a bit low. Your EC’s (internships) seem a bit commonplace tbh, but hey- your schools are awesome and unpredictable so u never know! In sure you can write a killer essay, and congrats on UNC that rocks

Hi! I hate to tell you this, but as mentioned above, most of the universities you mentioned are reaches.

The hardest to get into would be Brown, Cornell, and Vanderbilt, so don’t get your hopes up too much.

You never know what could happen (Emory and Vassar could be a possibility), so best of luck and congrats for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill!

@Hekcnsocksj I apologize-I was distracted when reading and did not realize you have already been accepted to UNC Chapel Hill. That is great and no small feat for someone OOS. And, of course, test scores aren’t everything. My nephew was accepted into one of his reach schools while many with higher test scores were rejected. Good luck!
